Are you a changemaker (writer, entrepreneur, educator, artist...) with a non-fiction book that needs editing?
Or with a resume that needs some sparkle and a storyline?
If so, let's talk!
Since the mid-1990's, I've written & edited for many publications and clients—books, magazines, newspapers and blogs, including The Huffington Post, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, Mothering Magazine and best-selling books The Daring Book for Girls and The First Days of School: 4th Edition, among many other wonderful non-fiction books. (See samples for a longer list and links.)
I take on a limited number of book editing projects each year, and I specifically work with non-fiction authors whose work aligns with creating a more compassionate, conscious, creative world. This can mean any variety of book topics, and has, but at core I can connect them all with a deeper value of sharing a positive, healing message with the world.
I offer developmental/story editing (rough draft stage, deep editing/rewriting) and copyediting (final draft stage, grammar/spelling/flow editing) services.
Some of the books for which I'm so happy to have had an editing role:
I also worked for two years as a counselor for graduate students in the Career Services Center at the University of California-San Diego, where I edited hundreds of resumes and cover letters each year -- and actually loved it! I apparently have a gift for creating sparklingly clear & compelling resumes and cover letters (hint: it's all about telling your story). So call me if you need yours clarified & polished up!
My flat rate is $75/hr -- has been for years, and seems to always work out to be a lovely "middle path" rate for large & small projects (given my former-journalist efficiency) and up-and-comers & established authors alike. Please contact me to discuss your editing needs, and I can give you an estimate (hours range) for your project.
I look forward to connecting with you -- and thanks for helping to create a kinder, healthier world with what you do!
